As spring is finally paving the way for summer, there are more outdoor activities you can engage without the worry of catching a cold. I will forever be a strong advocate of the warmer months because I get to finally eat gelato and also for the fact that I get to wander the city in fewer clothes. My friends think I am crazy for sticking with this preference even after my first extremely hot summer experience in Milan last year.

As June is just around the corner, I will be sharing with you some personally recommended free and paid arts, fashion, music, and exhibitions happening in Milan that I think you had love.

Here are my recommendations for What to Do & Events in Milan for June 2018

Organize a picnic at the Parco Sempione, one of the biggest green spaces in the vicinity of the City Centre. You can easily reach the park with the trams 2, 4, 12 & 14 directly from Duomo.

Go dancing at Just Cavalli or Old Fashion Club. The rooftops are always opened to guests during the warmer months. You can also find information on special events on their websites.

Enjoy your favourite scoops of gelato from the traditional and well-renowned gelaterias in Milan – Cioccolati Italiani and Gelataria Musica. I will recommend you to go the first Gelateria Musica in Milan, located along the Navigli canal.

You can partake in the Second Edition of the Milan Photo week from June 4 – June 10. There will be several days of exhibitions, meetings, guided visits, workshops, masterclasses, editorial projects and urban shows in various locations of the city.

Join Dancing with Roberto Bolle at the one week OnDance from June 11 – June 17. Five performances will be held at Teatro Arcimboldi from 13 to 17 of June. The event will feature exhibitions, workshops, happenings, flash mobs, urban dance performances, hip-hop, musicals, and meetings. This can also be a chance to also see inside the Teatro if you never have. .

Over 600 paintings, sculptures, photographs, posters, and architectural models are currently being showcased at the Exhibition: Post Zang Tumb Tuuum – The Rediscovery of Futurism till June 25 in Prada Foundation. The exhibition explores art and culture in Italy in the years between World War 1 and 2.

For Harry Potter fanatics, head to the Harry Potter Exhibition at Fabbrica del Vapore. It started since May 12 and will last till September 9. It hosts several interactive areas, where guests of all ages can delve into the world of Harry Potter.

Milan Menswear Week will be presented by the most important designers and emerging brands of Italian fashion. Have in mind that it will hold between June 15 to June 18.

Visit the exhibition dedicated to the Macchiaioli who dedicated themselves to painting landscapes inspired by the Macchiaioli movement. The Italian’s 20th Century program, Exhibition: Eredità della Macchia starts from June 6 and ends June 30.

See the Exhibition: Dürer and the Renaissance Between Germany and Italy on till June 24 at Palazzo Reale. At the exhibition, the works of Albrecht Dürer, one of the most influential artists of the German and European Renaissance is compared to that of several illustrious contemporaries through drawings, engravings, paintings, and graphics.

Shop at the Contemporary Art Auction at Pisacane Arte on June 20. Over 300 works by 19th and 20th-century artists including Giovanni Fattori, Roberto Crippa, Mario Sironi and Salvador Dalì will be available. It also hosts works of contemporary masters like Mr. Brainwash and Enrico Pambianchi. A preview exhibition will be held on Thursday 14 June between 10 am and 8 pm at Pisacane Arte – galleria.

The Filarmonica della Scala in concert is free and will hold on June 10 at Piazza Duomo. The La Scala Philharmonic orchestra, conducted by Riccardo Chailly will play with the Russian pianist Denis Matsuev.

Looking for a chance to listen to Italian top musicians live on stage? The Radio Italia Live – the Concert is a free concert holding on June 16. It is one of the biggest popular Italian music events.

Go listen to music in beautiful locations around Milan. Milano Arte Musica – International Festival of Ancient Music will run from June 3 to August 23. It will feature conferences, concerts, recitals and guided tours in 10 locations in the city.

White is a fashion exhibition that annually attracts thousands of visitors from around the world. It will take place in the Tortona Area from June 16 to June 18.

Head to the Concerts at Experience Park at the former Expo grounds. The concert will host artists like Liam Gallagher, Pearl Jam, Queens of the Stone Age, Noel Gallagher, The Offspring, and many more.
