August 2018 in Milan: what to do.

August 2018 in Milan: what to do. - Castello Sforzesco 2

The Ferragosto Month of August is finally here! While I am excited because of the holiday that comes along with it, I have been dealt with pretty badly by the heat. There is that saying that you can’t have it all right?

Alot of places and events will be on shutdown in Milan. This is because a lot of business owners escape to other cities more cooler and with the sea. If you would remain in Milan, remember to shop ahead for food and other necessities so you don’t get stranded!

As you may have imagined, I would be escaping the city to Tuscany’s seaside. You can follow my Instagram (@girl.in.milan) to keep up with my summer adventure.

Here’s what to do in Milan for August:

Head to Idroscalo for some fun sporting activities like water skiing. You can hire boats and pedalòs. There are also swimming pools, a beach, two adventure parks and a butterfly conservatory.

Join the ongoing Estate Sforzesca at the Sforza Castle organized by the ‘Courtyard of Arms’. The event features dance performances, concerts, theatre stagings, and exclusive music performances by laVerdi.

Cool off, go swimming at one of the many private or public pools available in Milan.

Partake in the Milano Latin Festival 2018 at Assago Forum, and feel the Latin American Vibes. What to expect include concerts, dance performances, food and interesting cultural events, set in the open-air spaces of Assago Forum.

Go to BASE Milano during the evening. This is a relaxing spot where you can find alot of youths chatting and patronizing the stationed food truck to the right of the space. You may be lucky to run into a bunch of bold show singers who would entertain you with a karaoke.

Have the whole store to yourself and shop in grand style. The Summer sales will still be on!

Visit the historical Villa Arconati located in located in Bollate, there would be some good water games and events going on.

Also, the Arianteo open-air cinema and Milano Arte Musica – International Festival of Ancient Music are still on.

You can also have a look at Museums you can visit for free in Milan this Sunday.

Lastly, eat gelato!

Enjoy your August!
